Do you own a mature business and wonder what your next step should be?

A senior Partner Adviser with the Great Performances Group, Doug Walker can not only design real outcomes for you, he can walk beside you, making every step real.

Doug is an accomplished business advisor and Certified Management Consultant. He has over 40 years of experience in business operations, business leadership, consulting, teaching, and research. Doug can be of huge value to your business with his extensive experience growing, buying, and selling businesses.

As a former CEO, he has built, grown, and sold several companies, in both professional services and product fields.

He has done the job, achieving success in:

  • building leadership teams
  • staffing new organizations
  • acquiring and merging companies
  • negotiating service contracts with clients, business allies and suppliers

Doug supports clients across many product and service sectors. He is widely respected for his abilities to quickly and accurately assess your needs, based on his years of direct experience, training, and business education (MBA).

Doug’s strongest interest is in helping you improve your operational performance in:

  • preparation for growth
  • ownership transition
  • survival

Doug knows that the biggest challenge in having a successful business strategy is in taking a disciplined approach to implementation.

Although Doug's clients range across many sectors, his experience and interest are greatest with services companies, including those who provide integrated product and service offerings, B2B and/or B2C. These include both:

  • professional practices – consultants, engineers, therapists, etc.; and
  • contract services – trades, technology, contract manufacturing, etc.

Habits need to be built for self accountability, by explicitly and frequently assessing operational success against the plan, holding one's feet to the fire to ensure good strategies are actually implemented and weak strategies are adapted.

Doug is passionate about supporting Canada’s entrepreneurs. He is a mentor for several startups, both as a volunteer and as a consultant. He has served on Executives and Boards of several professional organizations, private businesses, and not-for-profit associations.

Currently he is a Director of the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants.
